Robin L. Quillon, publisher of The Tribune-Democrat, has been promoted to a senior vice president for Community Newspaper Holdings Inc., the parent company of the newspaper.
In his new position, Quillon will lead the new Allegheny Division, which includes The Meadville Tribune; Star Beacon in Ashtabula, Ohio; Cumberland Times-News in Maryland; and The Tribune-Democrat, where he will continue to serve as publisher.
“Robin is a newspaper industry veteran who has proven himself,” said Keith Blevins, chief operating officer of CNHI.
“He has high expectations for a quality product and revenue growth and understands our mission to be leaders in local news and information in each of our markets.”
Quillon said he looks forward to working with “very capable” publishers in their respective markets.
“Our unified goal is to continue to be the leading provider of news and information across all media platforms,” he said.
“Having such a talented team of journalists and professionals here in Johnstown affords me this opportunity to lead the Allegheny Division.”
Quillon has held several executive positions in his 28-year career in the newspaper business.
He was vice president and general manager of The Frederick, Md., News Post. He was publisher of the News Chief in Winter Haven, Fla., for Morris Communications, and later served as a regional publisher of nine Morris community newspapers near Jacksonville, Fla. He joined CNHI in 2008 as publisher of The Tribune-Democrat.
CNHI, a privately owned company based in Montgomery, Ala., is one of the leading publishers of local news and information in the country. Founded in 1997, CNHI’s newspapers, websites and niche publications serve more than 130 communities.
