Edward P. Wojnaroski Jr. has been promoted to colonel in the Marine Corps Reserve.
He is the son of Edward P. Sr. and Sandy Wojnaroski of Johnstown’s Roxbury section.
Col. Wojnaroski is a lawyer with the firm of Williams Coulson Johnson Lloyd Parker & Tedesco in Pittsburgh. He specializes in estate and tax planning.
He also is a certified financial planner with a master’s degree in taxation from American University, Washington, D.C.
Col. Wojnaroski’s promotion took place in Quantico, Va., with his parents in attendance.
He is an operations officer with the Marine Air Ground Task Force’s staff training program at Quantico.
Wojnaroski has been in the Marines for more than 22 years on active and reserve status.
He received the Bronze Star for his part in combat operations in Iraq and Kuwait from December 2002 to May 2003.
He commanded Military Police Company, 1st Force Service Support Group, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, made up of more than 325 active and reserve Marines.
Wojnaroski led Marines who established four repair and replenishment points and planned and supervised security at 15 such posts for more than 3,000 soldiers.
He also supervised enemy prisoner of war operations, with his unit processing more than 14,000 enemy POWs during that six-month period.
Also for his service in Iraq and Kuwait, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device. His unit received the Presidential Unit Citation.
Wojnaroski is a graduate of Johnstown’s Bishop McCort High School, Washington & Jefferson College in Washington County and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
He resides in Fox Chapel in suburban Pittsburgh.
He and his wife, Sabrina, have two sons and a daughter.
