PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police say a man broke into a home and climbed in bed with its owner, apparently because he was drunk and cold following a rap concert.
Thirty-three-year-old Michael Kamau faces a preliminary hearing March 25 on charges of criminal mischief and criminal trespass.
Frank Fontana was in bed when Kamau climbed in about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. Fontana asked whether it was a woman who has keys to his home – and grabbed a baseball bat when a deep male voice answered, “No, it’s not.”
Police say Fontana kept Kamau at bay until police arrived, but didn’t hit him with the bat.
Police say Kamau told them he was looking for shelter after the Jay-Z concert at Mellon Arena Tuesday night.
Kamau doesn’t have an attorney or a listed phone.
