BOSWELL — An 83-year-old local woman was killed this morning when her car was hit by a coal truck as she was attempting to turn onto Route 219 from Route 30 in Somerset County.
State police said that Dorothy Howard was airlifted by medical helicopter to Memorial Medical Center, where she died in the hospital emergency room.
The driver of the coal truck was identified as Terry Shaffer, 62, of Hooversville.
