SOMERSET —
A Berlin man was sentenced on Wednesday to jail time for robbing a mini-mart and a pizza parlor in Somerset County.
Christopher Hogue, 21, of the 1000 block of Broderick Street, was sentenced to nine months to 23 months in the Somerset County Jail.
He admitted robbing Domino’s Pizza at 253 Plank Road in Somerset on Oct. 6 and Coalfield Mini Market at 1401 Main St. in Berlin on Oct. 10.
President Judge John M. Cascio sentenced Hogue in county court.
Authorities said Hogue – wearing black clothes and a mask – pulled a hand-held stun gun on a clerk at the pizza shop and demanded money.
Hogue struggled with the clerk before being chased from the restaurant by other workers.
Days later, Hogue wore a black mask when he pulled a gun on a clerk at the mini-mart and demanded money. He got away with $500.
He also pleaded guilty to committing burglaries at Herring Motor Co. in Somerset Township and at a home in Berlin.
Public defender William Carroll of Somerset told the judge that Hogue has a drug and alcohol problem.
Cascio also sentenced Hogue to three years of supervised probation.
