Two competing classes of students from Marion Center and Somerset Area high schools recently showcased their knowledge of the Constitution at the third annual Regional Simulated Hearing Showcase held at Pitt-Johnstown, Richland Township.
The students were organized in groups and evaluated by six panels of three judges, who volunteered their time to judge the students’ understanding of the Constitution.
The Somerset County Bar Association sponsored the event.
Both classes will compete for the statewide championship on Feb. 7.
The state champion and runner-up will represent Pennsylvania at the national finals at George Mason University and in Washington, D.C. this spring.
