NEW – Bridge replacement work to begin Thursday near Stoystown

PennDOT announced that work will begin on a bridge replacement project on Route 281 over the Beaverdam Creek, near Stoystown, Somerset County, beginning Thursday.

The work on the roadway will be done under half-width construction controlled by a temporary signal. Minor delays are possible.

The overall project will replace the existing structure with a single-span adjacent box beam bridge. In addition, the project will include roadway approach work, guiderail and drainage updates.

Mingo Creek Construction, LP of Meadow Lands, PA is the contractor for the $1.7 million project. Work is expected to be completed by mid November, 2008.
