Route 22 traffic patterns will change Monday

EBENSBURG — PennDOT said Friday that traffic patterns will change Monday on Route 22 between Munster and Ebensburg.

On Monday, westbound traffic will be switched from the passing lane to the travel lane.

Also, on Wednesday, eastbound traffic will be switched from the passing lane to the travel lane.

This switch is necessary so the contractor can pave the passing lanes and so the new median barrier can be placed.

The entire project consists of concrete rehabilitation work with a bituminous overlay along with guardrail, drainage, sign upgrades and a new concrete median. The Route 22 bridge over Route 2014 near the Portage/Munster exit also will be rehabilitated.

The entire project is about three miles in length, and New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. is the contractor on the $9.8 million project. All work is anticipated to be completed by mid-November.
