NEW VIDEO -- Thunder in the Valley revs up

Thunder in the Valley opened today in Johnstown, with early-morning showers pushed aside by growing crowds and rising temperatures.

Thunder headquarters at 416 Main St. opened at 8:30 a.m. and manufacturer’s displays and demo rides started at 9 a.m. at the Train Station on Walnut Street.

By 10:30 a.m. there was a line of people at the Nationwide Insurance booth in the Biker Mall.

Everyone was eager to take a spin on the prize wheel where everyone was a winner.

Spinners received either a biker T-shirt, bandana or towel. They also are in the running for a $150 or $300 gas card.

“This is the second year for us to be here and we want to be present and visible in the area,” said district sales manager Kevin Witwer. “This is a great community event and these people coming here are our customers.”

This evening's highlights will include:

- The Budweiser Clydesdales from 6 to 8 p.m. at Festival Park.

- AMA Nationals racers signing autographs at 6 p.m. at the MegaMall, 420 Main St.

- The Ms. Thunder finals at 7 p.m. at the Biker Mall near Suppes Ford on Main Street.
