Domestic dispute leads to arrest of wanted man

A domestic dispute between a man and woman at the Coopersdale Homes on Tuesday morning led to Johnstown police learning that the man was wanted on felony charges in New Jersey.

The woman was arrested for harboring him.

Troy R. Rose, 23, and Davida V. Glover, 23, both of Building 18, Coopersdale Homes, were arraigned before District Judge Michael Musulin of downtown Johnstown and lodged in the Cambria County Prison in lieu of bail.

Rose was charged by Johnstown police with assaulting an officer, fleeing police and other offenses. Glover also was charged with tampering with physical evidence.

The criminal complaint said police were called to the Coopersdale Homes around 9:45 a.m. because a man and woman were fighting between two buildings at the complex.

Upon arrival, police found that the couple had returned to their residence, with Glover telling police that nothing was wrong and that the man was not inside the residence.

She allowed police to check the apartment and police said they found Rose hiding behind the refrigerator.

Rose then told police that he is Glover’s brother, and gave a fictitious name. He told police he didn’t have identification but that he had been treated at the hospital and that his name was on the medical papers.

Police checked the medical papers and found that the corner where the patient’s name was printed was torn off. However, police turned to the next page and found that Rose’s name was printed there, the complaint said.

Their investigation determined that Glover had ripped the corner off the paperwork to hamper the investigation, the complaint said.

Rose then shoved the officer in an attempt to get away but was tackled a short distance away, the complaint said.
