Bedford crash closes 90 miles of turnpike

BEDFORD — State police say a traffic accident prompted the closure Sunday evening of about 90 miles of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in both directions.

Police say the 5:41 p.m. crash at mile marker 140 in Napier Township, Bedford County, involved a tractor-trailer and other vehicles. Officials said the tractor-trailer rolled over and caught fire.

Police say there were injuries, but no one was killed.

The highway was shut down in both directions between New Stanton and Breezewood.
