Raymond J. Chessa Sr.


CHESSA – Raymond J. Sr., died Sept. 11, 2008, at Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando, Fla. Born Feb. 28, 1929, in Vintondale, the son of Joseph and Paulina (Pinna) Chessa. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Frank; and sisters, Mary Hollern and Lena Krstulich. Survived by wife of 55 years, Agnes (Yasenosky); and these children, son, Ray, married to Catherine (Bango), Johnstown; daughter, Jeanne, married to James McKnight, Orlando, Fla.; and son, Joseph, married to Irene (Sulosky), Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Jenny White and Catherine Ritchey, Johnstown; also survived by eight grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was proud of his Italian heritage. Also a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Kissimmee, Fla., where memorial service will be held at a later date. He was a retired welder from Bethlehem Steel Corp. and served in the U.S. Army in Korea; also a lifetime member of the VFW. Friends received 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at the Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown, Pa. 15905. He was a charter member of St. Clement Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. William E. Rosenbaum. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
