Bishops celebrating Mass in Altoona this morning

ALTOONA — Five American bishops along with priests and deacons of Slovak descent will participate in a special Mass to be concelebrated in the Slovak language at 9:30 a.m. today at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Altoona.

Among the 36 clergy members expected to attend are ten priests of Altoona-Johnstown Diocese, including the Very Rev. John Byrnes of St. Aloysius, Cresson; the Rev. Martin Cingle of St. Francis of Assisi, Johnstown; the Rev. Msgr. John Sasway of Our Lady of the Alleghenies, Lilly; and the Rev. Andrew Stanko of St. Stephen, Johnstown.

All are welcome to attend the special Eucharistic celebration that opens the convocation of the conference of Slovak Clergy in the U.S.
