A Cambria County man and woman will face county court action on charges they conspired to obtain pain pills illegally from a Geistown pharmacy.
Charles Willard Miller, 46, of the 100 block of Taylor Lane, Salix, and Brenda Lee Miller, 36, of the 500 block of Cameron Avenue, Beaverdale, waived their rights to preliminary hearings last week before District Judge Max Pavlovich in Richland Township.
Each is free on bail.
Geistown Borough police said in a criminal complaint that Charles Miller took an expired prescription that had been issued to him, covered up the writing and made a copy of the now blank prescription. He then wrote a prescription to Brenda Miller for 120 Percocet tablets, the complaint said.
He gave the prescription to Brenda Miller, who went to the Rite Aid Pharmacy in Geistown on Jan. 6 and obtained the pain pills, the complaint said. She then turned over the prescription to Charles Miller.

Disorderly conduct
An Ebensburg woman was charged Wednesday with disorderly conduct and improperly dialing 911 after Indiana Borough police said she called to report underage drinking.
Borough police said Ashley Regina Smith, 21, made the hang-up call about 2:45 a.m. Feb. 7 to report her boyfriend drinking at Carriage House Apartments. Authorities said they walked through the apartment complex and made repeated calls to Smith’s phone.
They eventually tracked her down.
Criminal mischief
Berlin police are investigating a criminal mischief in which someone threw what appeared to be a homemade explosive device into a driveway in the 800 block of Main Street, striking a car.
The incident occurred Wednesday evening. Witnesses reported seeing a red Mustang in the area at the time.
Burglary, trespass
A Coopersdale Homes resident was arrested Wednesday on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and theft.
Bond for Shane Allen Plummer, 22, was set at $50,000 by District Judge John Barron, the on-call magistrate.
Johnstown police believe Plummer broke through the door of a woman’s residence at the Oakhurst Homes on Tuesday evening and stole a $200 DVD/VCR player and a $10 lamp.
The woman indicated she and Plummer were involved in a dispute over a cell-phone bill, police said.
Home break-in
A digital camera, two pairs of diamond earrings and multiple containers of U.S. coins were stolen from a residence in the 600 block of Washington Church Road, Home, said state police in Indiana.
The burglars entered the residence between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday through a window they broke in the basement.
Involuntary manslaughter
A Williamsburg man has waived his preliminary hearing on charges of involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment resulting from a fatal accident in Blair County.
Barry England appeared Tuesday before District Judge Paula Aigner of Hollidaysburg. The case now will go on to Blair County Court.
England was driving on private property on New Year’s Eve when his Chevy Blazer crashed into an uprooted tree stump, police said.
Passenger John Hite II of Martinsburg was injured and died Jan. 9.
England is free on $50,000 unsecured bond.
