WINDBER — State police are investigating an assault that happened early Sunday outside an Ogle Township bar.
A 43-year-old Windber man and his wife were leaving Eddy O’s Bar along Route 160 at 12:30 a.m. when five to 10 men “jumped the victim,” police said.
The man suffered moderate injuries to his face and was treated at Windber Medical Center.
State police say they have not yet identified the alleged assailants, who reportedly are in their 20s. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Somerset barracks at 445-4104.
Solar lights stolen from grave
INDIANA – Two brass solar lights were stolen from a grave at Greenwood Cemetery in White Township, state police reported.
The lights were taken between March 3 and 18.
Wireless upgrade approved
EBENSBURG – The Cambria County commissioners have approved an $18,000 upgrade for the Hastings tower, part of the county’s $10 million wireless telecommunications system.
The upgrade will increase the signal, the commissioners said.
