A Somerset County man accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl will answer the charges in Cambria County Court.
David Jeffreys, 35, of Davidsville, Conemaugh Township, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Leonard Grecek of Roxbury.
Johnstown police said Jeffreys allegedly sexually assaulted the 15-year-old at a residence on Ash Street on June 27.
Police said a group of people were drinking beer at the time when Jeffreys and the girl walked away from the party and had sex in his car.
He was charged with statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors and related charges.
Police said Jeffreys was involved in another incident on Aug 3. Jeffreys allegedly exposed himself to several underage girls in a parking lot on Horner Street. Police said when they arrived they heard “violent screaming from several females.”
Jeffreys told police he was simply changing into his shorts.
“We believe the incidents were alcohol related,” said attorney Kevin Rozich of Johnstown, who represents Jeffreys.
Jeffreys will seek alcohol counseling, Rozich said.
Jeffreys was freed on unsecured bond.
