JOHNSTOWN — A Johnstown man was arrested Tuesday by the Cambria County Drug Task Force on charges that he allegedly sold crack cocaine in the city and Richland Township.
Dorian “DoeDoe” Stephens’ arrest culminated a year-long probe into crack-cocaine trafficking not only in Johnstown and Richland but also in the Sidman area, District Attorney Patrick Kiniry said Thursday.
“This individual allegedly was responsible for distributing weekly thousands of dollars worth of crack cocaine on the streets of Cambria County,” Kiniry said.
The task force, using both undercover police officers and informants, made purchases of cocaine from Stephens, the district attorney alleged.
Other people, including Stephens’ half-brother, Robert, are suspected of working with Stephens, Kiniry said.
Robert Stephens, 25, who is in the county prison on unrelated charges, now faces drug delivery offenses.
Dorian Stephens, 22, of the 1100 block of McKinley Avenue, was taken into custody on Osborne Street in the city’s 8th Ward by task force officers.
Assisting in the investigtion were agents from the state attorney general’s office, city police, sheriff’s deputies and the FBI.
During the arrest, crack cocaine with a street value of $2,500 and more than $3,000 in cash were seized, Kiniry said.
The task force, armed with a search warrant, also seized two loaded handguns and packaging materials from Stephens’ residence.
He was arraigned before District Judge Rick Varner and lodged in the county prison in lieu of $150,000 bond.
