He was not injured.

Staff raises funds for soldier’s family

BLAIRSVILLE – Staff members in Blairsville-Saltsburg School District raised an undetermined amount of money Tuesday for the family of a soldier killed in Afghan-istan.

Staffers donated $5 each for the privilege of wearing jeans to work.

Proceeds will benefit the family of Army Staff Sgt. Glen H. Stivison Jr., 34, who graduated from Blairsville High School in 1994. He was one of four soldiers killed last week when their vehicle was struck by an improvised

explosive device in Kandahar province, the Defense Department said.

Stivison was living in Colorado with his wife, Eryn, and their sons, Blaze and Andrew, media reports said.
