EBENSBURG — Three Cambria County woman, including two sisters, were arrested Wednesday and face felony charges of distributing tens of thousands of dollars worth of prescription pills in small communities in much of the county.
They are Shawna Delozier, 22, of the 700 block of Cambria Avenue, Revloc; Kathleen Weimer, 20, of the 300 block of Oak Street, Cone-maugh; and Weimer's sister, Kelly, 22, of the 2500 block of William Penn Ave-nue, East Taylor Township.
The arrests by the Cambria County Drug Task Force followed a three-month probe into pill trafficking in East Conemaugh, Jackson Township, Nanty Glo, Ebensburg, Cresson and the Mainline area.
District Attorney Patrick Kiniry described the woman as alleged “high-level, prescription pill dealers who controlled the distribution network.”
The Weimer sisters were taken into custody without incident in Conemaugh. During their arrests, task force officers seized pills with a street value of more than $2,500 as well as $600 in cash, Kiniry said.
Delozier was taken into custody without incident in Sanker-town. Task force officers searched an apartment there and seized drug paraphernalia and packaging material along with some money, Kiniry said.
The painkillers being sold included OxyContin for $60 to $70 a pill, said Kevin Price, task force supervisor.
Undercover police officers and informants purchased pills from the three women, authorities allege. Investigation into the source of the drugs continues.
Delozier was placed in the county prison on a probation-violation warrant. The Weimers were placed in the prison in lieu of $30,000 bond each after being arraigned before District Judge Rick Varner.
