Man jailed after hotel brawl

By PATRICK BUCHNOWSKI

JOHNSTOWN — A brawl at a Johnstown hotel led to the arrest of a Blair County man who allegedly assaulted two Johnstown police officers who responded to the fight.

In a court document, city police said they arrived at the Holiday Inn Johnstown located at 250 Market St. shortly after midnight Sunday as the crowd was breaking up.

One of the combatants – Joshua D. Suhoney, 24, of Duncansville – then reportedly punched an officer in the stomach.

Suhoney scuffled with police who handcuffed him and placed him into a patrol car. Suhoney than began beating his head against the window, police said.

A second officer opened the rear door to prevent Suhoney from banging his head against the glass when the suspect allegedly kicked him in the chest.

Officers Trevor Law and Donald Robertson were uninjured.

Suhoney allegedly threatened to assault the officer who drove him to the Public Safety Building on Washington Street for processing.

Once inside the building, Suhoney yelled at police, telling them to punch him.

He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, and one count each of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Suhoney was arraigned by on-call District Judge Leonard Grecek of Roxbury and sent to the Cambria County Prison after failing to post 10 percent of his $20,000 bond.
