No tax increase expected in Ferndale, Conemaugh Twp.

By TED POTTS

JOHNSTOWN — Supervisors in Conemaugh Township, Cambria County, and Ferndale Borough Council have approved tentative 2010 operating budgets.

Neither includes a tax increase.

The township budget is $394,000.

The real-estate levy is 10 mills, said John S. Peschock, secretary-treasurer.

All other taxes remain the same as well.

Final action on the budget is anticipated at the supervisors’ meeting at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the municipal building at 142 Janie St., Peschock said.

The Ferndale budget totals $525,196.

The real-estate levy is 35 mills, said Councilman Mark Wissinger, the board’s public relations chairman.

Final action on the budget is anticipated at the council’s meeting at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Ferndale fire hall, Wissinger said.

Also unchanged are the borough’s garbage-collection and sewer-maintenance fees, he noted.
