East Conemaugh man charged with assault

By PATRICK BUCHNOWSKI

JOHNSTOWN — An East Conemaugh Borough man was jailed after police said he assaulted a woman – knocking out some of her teeth – then threatened police with a baseball bat.

In a court document, borough police said Adam Donald Cosgrove, 25, of the 300 block of Oak Street, assaulted the woman Saturday when she arrived at Cosgrove’s house with another man.

Cosgrove reportedly threw her into the bushes and then smashed her head against the hood of the car. Officers said they found two of her teeth on the pavement.

The woman told police Cosgrove “rammed her head so many times off of different items” inside the house.

Cosgrove then punched the driver’s side window of the man’s 1995 Chevrolet Corsica, shattering the window, police said.

When officers arrived, they could hear Cosgrove yelling from inside the house and the woman screaming for help.

Cosgrove came to the back door and threatened the police with a baseball bat.

The officers were able to take him into custody.

Cosgrove was charged with aggravated and simple assault, harassment, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

He was arraigned by District Judge Max Pavlovich of Richland Township and sent to the Cambria County Prison after failing to post $25,000 bond.

The woman was treated at Memorial Medical Center.
