Man charged with stabbing woman, resisting arrest

By PATRICK BUCHNOWSKI

CRESSON — A Cresson Township man was jailed Sunday after police said he stabbed his girlfriend during an argument.

State police in Ebensburg were called to a domestic dispute at a home in the 500 block of Central Avenue around 7 p.m.

A woman there told police her brother had stabbed his girlfriend in the arm, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by state police.

The girlfriend had a deep, 4-inch-long laceration on her left upper arm, troopers said.

The suspect, David Martin Brosch, 24, struggled with troopers when they tried to take him into custody.

Troopers said they shot Brosch two times with a Taser.

Brosch was charged with simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment.

He was arraigned Sunday by District Judge Rick Varner of Salix and sent to the Cambria County Prison after failing to post $50,000 bond.

Troopers did not say if the woman went to the hospital.
