Man accused of theft of prescription drugs

JOHNSTOWN — A Nanty Glo man was jailed Wednesday after police said he robbed a woman of her prescription drugs.

Borough police said 20-year-old James Douglas Brothers showed up at a woman’s home in the 1000 block of Heisley Street at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday looking for her drugs. The woman reportedly told police that Brothers robbed her of 18 or 19 oxycodone pills and fled.

Brothers, of the 200 block of Old Nanty Glo Road, was arraigned by on-call District Judge Mary Ann Zanghi of Vinco on charges of robbery, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct.

He was sent to the Cambria County Prison after failing to post 10 percent of $50,000 bond.
