Player hurt in crash suing bus company

PITTSBURGH — A college lacrosse player who was injured when her team’s bus veered off the Pennsylvania Turnpike and crashed is suing the bus company.

Lawyers for Seton Hill University freshman Amanda Michalski said they filed the lawsuit Thursday against Mlaker Transportation of Davidsville.

Thirty-year-old coach Kristina Quigley, her unborn son and 61-year-old driver Anthony Guaetta of Westmont were killed in the crash Saturday morning near Carlisle.

Michalski’s lawyer, Shanin Specter, said Guaetta was negligent and reckless.

Mlaker’s lawyer, Stephen Geduldig, said he hasn’t seen the lawsuit. But he called the accident an unimaginable tragedy and said the company is cooperating with the police investigation.

Michalski, from Coon Rapids, Minn., is listed in good condition at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Her lawyers said she suffered multiple fractures and internal injuries.

A Thursday night vigil was planned at the school’s Greensburg campus. Quigley’s funeral is today in Baltimore.

Guaetta’s funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Upper Yoder Township.
