NEW STANTON — A fatal accident closed the westbound lanes of the turnpike for several hours Sunday evening but all lanes are now open.
Officials in Westmoreland County say one person died in the accident involving two tractor-trailers around 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The crash was cleared and lanes reopened around 4 a.m. Monday.
The crash happened near New Stanton, about 25 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.
