MCKEESPORT — Blood tests have been delayed on a Pittsburgh-area father and daugther who are believed to have died from carbon monoxide poisoning Sunday.
Police found a generator running inside the home when 60-year-old George Mateya and his 19-year-old daughter, Joelle, were found dead Sunday morning.
Authorities suspect exhaust fumes killed them.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office hopes to confirm that with blood tests Monday. But the office’s lab was short-staffed because “nonessential” county workers were told to stay home as the area digs out from a snowstorm that dropped about two feet of snow over the weekend.
