In brief: Warrant unsealed in triple slaying

SALTSBURG — Authorities suggest that whoever killed three women at an auto glass shop may have hidden evidence at a relative’s nearby farm.

Eighty-one-year-old Edith Tietge, her sister, Doris Lee Murphy, and Murphy’s daughter were found shot to death April 23 inside Ferguson Glass in Saltsburg, Indiana County.

According to a warrant unsealed Tuesday, investigators found two rifles and bullets at the farm belonging to Roy Martin.

A handgun believed to be the murder weapon was found at the shop.

The warrant said Kevin Murphy, Doris Murphy’s son, had been at his uncle’s farm to tend animals the evening of the murders.

Police won’t say if Murphy is a suspect, but they’ve taken his blood and clothing to compare with other evidence.
