City man charged with sex assault

JOHNSTOWN — A Johnstown man was jailed after he was accused of having sex with a woman who thought he was her boyfriend, city police said.

Johnstown police said Michael Noah Crusan, 22, crawled into the bed of a woman who lives on Messenger Street and had sex with her at 4 a.m. Dec. 1.

The woman told police it was dark and she had taken prescription medications to help her sleep.

The woman mistook the intruder for her boyfriend, who she said routinely sleeps with her after a night of drinking, police said.

“She said she thought it was her boyfriend coming in for a ‘quickie’ after he left the bar,” police said in a criminal complaint.

Police said Crusan entered the apartment through a window and left through the door.

The next morning the woman realized it was not her boyfriend who had sex with her.

Police said Crusan later apologized to the woman,

saying he was drunk at the time.

Crusan, of the 100 block of Singer Street, was arraigned Tuesday by District Judge Leonard Grecek of Roxbury on charges of burglary and sexual assault.

He was sent to the Cambria County Prison after failing to post 10 percent of $25,000 bond.
