JOHNSTOWN —
U.S. Rep. Mark Critz, D-Johnstown, told about 30 people at an American Dream event Monday evening in Geistown that the nation can’t “cut” its way out of its sluggish economy and that a bipartisan plan that benefits all Americans is what could.
Critz was invited to speak by American Dream, a national grassroots efforts of dozens of organizations seeking to keep politicians accountable to citizens.
The event was held at Anthony’s restaurant.
Critz said that the mood in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives seems to be rely on spending cuts.
“Every time you cut, it affects someone,” he said, adding the country wouldn’t realize all the savings anyway because there are costs associated in closing programs.
