— Several area companies have worked with the AEC Group of McKeesport in a program in which nonprofit agencies also benefit.

The program is AEC’s Hire with Heart. When a company hires an employee through the AEC Group Staffing Division in Hire with Heart, AEC will make a contribution to a non-profit agency designated by that business.

The most recent company to add an employee through Hire with Heart is North American Hoganas in Hollsopple. Its nonprofit of choice is the Christian Home of Johnstown.

AEC spokesman Chris Marshall said the program has contributed a total of $2,315 to the Christian Home through Hire with Heart in placing employees with North American Hoganas.

AEC provides temporary and contract-to-hire workers and head hunting activities for companies.

AEC has also provided workers to DRS Laurel Technologies and Kongsberg Defense Corp., both in Richland Township, in Hire with Heart.

Other nonprofits that have benefited in the program locally are the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center and Veteran Community Initiatives, both in Upper Yoder Township.

David Hamaty of North American Hoganas likes Hire with Heart.

“We can count on AEC for quality staffing and our community can count on our continued support,” he said.
