JOHNSTOWN —
Somerset’s Eddie Buck had a big finish to his scholastic basketball career on Saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Sports Center.
The 6-foot-4 center netted 22 of his game-high 26 points in the second half and overtime during the South squad’s 105-94 OT victory against the North in the fifth annual AmeriServ Senior Hoops Showcase boys game.
“I think we did a lot of teamwork,” said Buck, who had 11 rebounds, three steals and three assists while earning the boys MVP honors. “It’s a bunch of all-stars but we all played well together.
“Not just one person did all the work.
“We had three kids in the 20s and that’s tremendous for an all-star game.
“No one was ball-hogging. Everyone worked together and it was great.”
