SOMERSET – Five Johnstown players scored in double figures led by Cliff Eddins with 16 as the Trojans picked up a road win.
Mark Watson added 13 points and eight assists for Johnstown, which also got 12 points each from Richard Agurs, Quayshawn Thompson and Alkwan Williams.
Williams also grabbed 11 rebounds while Agurs had five steals.
Caleb Proctor had 13 points for Somerset while Dylan Brant had 10.
North Star 62, Ferndale 42
BOSWELL – Jake Fleegle scored a game-high 28 points and pulled down
11 rebounds to lead North Star to a victory over visiting Ferndale.
Wade Walker added 18 points and
10 rebounds for the Cougars.
Trevor Mattis and Ryan Gaunt each scored 11 points for the Yellow Jackets.
Gaunt topped the 1,000-point scoring mark in the third quarter.
Westmont 48, Richland 44
John Valcheff scored 16 points and Mike Young added 13 as Westmont Hilltop edged host Richland.
Dereck Malzi scored a game-high
20 points for the Rams, who also got
10 points and 11 rebounds from Jordan Rozich.

Salisbury-Elk Lick 62
SALISBURY – Tyler Smith scored a game-high 33 points to help lead Shade to a road victory over Salisbury-Elk Lick.
Kenny Gibbons added 21 points for the Panthers, who also got 12 points from Nick Kephart.
Nick Boslet had 17 points to lead the Elks, who also got 13 points and seven rebounds from Scott Knopsnyder,
13 points from Ryan Vogt and 10 points from Mike Vaughn. Alex Beiler contributed eight points and six assists.
Bishop McCort 47
Altoona 43
Mason del Rosario hit a 3-pointer with four seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime and Bishop McCort went on to the victory over visiting Altoona.
It was the first time since 1989 that the Crushers had beaten the Mountain Lions.
Del Rosario finished with a game-high 20 points while Patrick O’Reilly added 10.
Robert Johnson topped Altoona with 13 points and Deron Lee supplied 11.

Blacklick Valley 38
NANTY GLO – Cameron Ursino and Joe Pipon each scored 12 points to lead Windber to a road victory over Blacklick Valley.
Ted Worthington scored 11 points for the Vikings, who also got
11 rebounds from freshman Dalton Cesarz.

MEYERSDALE – Conemaugh Township had five players in double figures, led by Dillon Boyer’s 17 points, in a win at Meyersdale.
Mike Lysic and Grant Speigle added 13 points apiece for the Indians, while Andrew Shaulis and Joe Roman both had 11.
Detrick Peterman led the Raiders with 14 points, while Ben Lohr and Justin Hoover added 11 each.
Ian Edwards finished with seven rebounds.

Bishop Guilfoyle 40
EBENSBURG – Brian Holsinger had 16 points to lead three players in double figures for the Red Devils.
Zack Vigneault and Caleb Handlon finished with 14 points apiece, with Vigneault adding eight assists.
Brian Logue led Bishop Guilfoyle with 15 points.

SIDMAN – Luke Gallaher had
24 points and six assists, and Tanner Thomas had 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Rangers.
Dylan Link led the Huskies with

SHANKSVILLE – Chelsea Danel scored 12 points and dished out eight assists in a North Star victory over host Shanksville-Stonycreek.
Emily Lohr added 10 points and nine rebounds for the Cougars, who also got 10 points and seven rebounds from Bailley Caviness.

HOLLSOPPLE – Chelsea Pongrac and Becca Muha scored 10 points apiece to lead the Panthers.
Ashley Mangus and Casey Roberts had nine rebounds each, while Pongrac had eight steals.

EBENSBURG – Michelle Svonavec scored a game-high 22 points helping to lead Somerset to a road win over Central Cambria.
Chelsea Shaulis added 10 points for the Golden Eagles.
Taylor Swatsworth topped the Red Devils with 19 points while Emily Wright added 15.

Tynesha Smith scored 18 points and had nine rebounds for the Trojans.
Missy Ravida added four assists.
Berlin 73, Salisbury 53
SALISBURY – Brooke Snyder led all scorers with 28 points and Marah Riley added 10 as Berlin defeated host Salisbury-Elk Lick.
The Elks were led by Lydia Hale-Cooper, who scored 19 points, and Alayna Hershberger, who had 15.
Richland 57, Bedford 27
Katie Gehlmann scored 15 points and Casey Baumgardner and Kaija Holtzman both had 10 in Richland’s win.
District 5
championships moved
The District 5 basketball championships have been moved from March 3 and 4 to March 5 and 6 at UPJ.
The Class AA girls and Class A championships will be played on March 5 while the Class A girls and Class AA boys title games are set for March 6.
Game times will be 6:30 and 8 p.m. each day.
Ticket prices for all championship games will be $3 for students and $6 for adults.

Pastorek receives honor
Indiana University of Pennsylvania forward Sarah Pastorek has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week.
Pastorek, a Bishop McCort graduate, averaged 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, three steals, 2.5 assists and two blocks to lead IUP to a 2-0 week with wins over Edinboro and Clarion.
She shot 52 percent from the field (13-for-25) and 17-of-21 from the free throw line (81 percent).
HOCKEY
Chiefs acquire wing
The Johnstown Chiefs announced Monday that they have acquired left wing Matthew Kang from the Las Vegas Wranglers in exchange for future considerations.
The 6-foot,
190-pound left wing from Toronto is in his first season of professional hockey.
Through 24 games with Las Vegas, Kang registered five points (four goals, one assist), 28 penalty minutes, and posted a -10 rating.
Prior to the season he attended training camp with the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage.
