Conemaugh Valley’s Jimmy Britton didn’t allow an earned run as he picked up his second win in as many games at the expense of visiting Windber.
Jake Cekada drove in two runs for the Blue Jays.
Windber starter Justin Bush went the distance, striking out seven.
Somerset 13
Central Cambria 10
EBENSBURG – Mylas Ream, Dylan Brant and Devon Pritts had two hits each to lead Somerset.
Ream drove in two runs and Pritts scored two.
Zack Ambrisco went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer to pace the Red Devils, who got two hits and three RBIs from Luke Trotz.
Conemaugh Township 12 Ferndale 8
DAVIDSVILLE – Dan Blank and Dillon Boyer each had three hits for host Conemaugh Township in a WestPAC win over Ferndale.
Blank was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Boyer was 3-for-5 driving in two runs. Mike Lysic was 2-for-4, including a solo home run in the fifth, and drove in three runs for the Indians.
The Yellow Jackets’ Ian Helsel was 3-for-5, Tanner Kulback was 2-for-4 and Donny Blasko was 2-for-3.
Bedford 11
Penn Cambria 3
BEDFORD - Marcus Shippey had four hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs to help Bedford defeat Penn Cambria.
James Yocklovich added three hits with a home run and drove in a run for the Bisons, who also got three hits from Brian Gibbons with two doubles and three RBIs and two hits with a double and two RBIs from Ryan Robinette.
Shane Hartline had two hits and drove in a run while Anthony Guzic scored twice for the Panthers.
United 12
Northern Cambria 7
NORTHERN CAMBRIA – Kody Oliver was 2-for-5 with a double and Jordan Long was 2-for-4 and drove in a run as United defeated host Northern Cambria in the opener for both teams.
Cody Trabert added two hits for the Lions.
Brian Laurito was 2-for-4 and drove in a run while Alec Fisanick was 2-for-3 and had an RBI.
Richland 9
Cambria Heights 1
PATTON – Austin Urban, Zach Solarczyck and Travis Gelles all scored twice for Richland in a win over host Cambria Heights.
Tyler Crawford, Brett Morganstern and Eric Montag (two hits) all drove in two runs for the Rams, who also got doubles from Dan Gray and Cameron Kaminsky.
Caleb Vescovi had the Highlanders only hit and Shane Mallin scored their run.
Laurel Valley 7
Penns Manor 4
CLYMER – Winning pitcher John Jones was 3-for-4, scored two runs and drove in two as Laurel Valley opened the season with a victory.
Kasey Jewart was 3-for-4 for the Comets.

Bishop McCort 9
EBENSBURG – Taylor Makin was 5-for-5 and drove in three runs while Josh King went 3-for-4 and had four RBIs for Bishop Carroll in the Huskies victory over visiting Bishop McCort.
Matt McMillen had three hits for the Crimson Crushers, who also got two hits including a home run from Jim Stenger.

Bishop Guilfoyle 4
Johnstown strung together six hits and two errors for a five-run sixth inning for a victory at Lady Trojans Field.
Casey Sabo got the win on her 18th birthday, relieving Kirsten Szczur, who went 2-for-3 with a single and a double that produced a run on a two-base error. Teammate Lindsay Rogers went 3-for-3 with two singles and a long double, and freshman Amber Maurer was
2-for-4 with a RBI.
Sarah Prosser homered for Guilfoyle and teammate Rachael Potopa went 2-for-4.
Richland 8
Cambria Heights 2
Freshman pitcher Nicki Mihalik struck out 14 as host Richland defeated Cambria Heights.
Kaleigh Hudak was 2-for-4 and scored three runs for the Rams, who also got two hits apiece from Lauren Keffer, Alexa Hoover and Maura Koshute.
Brittany Barcelos was 2-for-3 and scored two runs for the Highlanders while Danielle Bodek had two hits in three at bats.
Northern Cambria 9
Homer-Center 5
HOMER CITY - Senior pitcher Ashley Baker earned the victory on the mound for Northern Cambria and helped her own cause, going
4-for-4 with a triple, and driving in three runs.
Shawna Serafin added two hits for the Colts and drove in four runs while Becky Britton supplied three hits with a double and drove in a run.
Kate Skinner had three hits, including a home run and a double, for the Wildcats.
Conemaugh Valley 10
Windber 0
Holly Glass struck out eight for Conemaugh Valley in a WestPAC shutout over Windber that went five innings.
Glass, Darla Pollino, Jen Percinsky and Becca Justinus all had two hits for the Blue Jays (2-0), who also got a double from Jamie Cekada and four RBIs from Carley Yanko.
Alyssa Ott and Katelyn Koot had Windber’s two hits.
Central Cambria 12
Somerset 4
SOMERSET - Lindsey Beyer hit a three-run homer and Aimee Espe added a double for Central Cambria as the Red Devils outlasted Somerset in the Laurel Highlands opener for both teams which featured
11 errors.
Marissa Conti, Jamie Emert and Kendra Custer all had singles for the Golden Eagles.

BEDFORD - Kasey Brevins homered and tripled in a losing cause for Bedford.
