Conemaugh Township’s Kevin Byer scored 22 points, including the 1,000th point of his career, as the Indians defeated host Conemaugh Valley on Thursday night.

I was on the line and everyone was watching. I missed the first one and hit the second one and then I knew I had it.

Byer needed 18 points, and he reached the milestone on a free-throw shot midway through the fourth quarter.
“Kevin has seen the program since he’s been in second grade.
