Somerset 15

Serenko F.H. 2

PORTAGE - Somerset bounced back from an early 2-1 deficit to defeat Portage’s Serenko Funeral Home on Monday in five innings, clinching the best-of-3 quarterfinal series 2-0.

Chase Dykstra was 2-for-3 while Joe Foltz went 3-for-4 with a home run for Somerset, which also got a double apiece from Cole Christner, Max Marker and Gunnar Smith.

Mike Sinosky was 2-for-3 for Serenko.

Somerset will play at Cernic’s when the semifinals begin on Wednesday.

There was no report on the Ebensburg-Cernic’s game.

Claysburg 13

Patton 2

PATTON - Ryan Slagenweit had two hits, including a double, scored four runs and drove in another as Claysburg belted Patton to win the best-of-3 series 2-0.

Mike Blair added two hits and drove in three runs for top-seeded Claysburg.

Josh Reed and Ricky Brown combined to scatter four hits in seven innings of work.

Brad O’Donnell hit a double for Patton.

Claysburg will play host to Westmont in Wednesday’s best-of-3 semifinal opener.

Westmont 15

Bedford 5

Chase Wallace went 4-for-4 while teammate Pat Hall was 3-for-3 including a home run with three RBIs as Westmont eliminated Bedford in six innings for a 2-0 quarterfinal series victory.

Bryan Marshall was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Westmont, which will play top-seeded Claysburg in the semifinals, which are scheduled to begin on Wednesday.

Byron Rose and Seth Shaffer were both 2-for-4 for Bedford with Rose belting a home run and driving in two runs, and Shaffer scoring a run.
