GETTYSBURG — KAHL – William H., 71, Gettysburg, died Nov. 2, 2012, at York Hospital. He was born Jan. 3, 1941, in Johnstown, son of the late Robert and Alice (Raab) Kahl. He also was preceded in death by siblings, Robert Kahl, Mary Alice Margolis and Thomas Kahl. He is survived by a brother-in-law, Dr. Simeon Margolis, Baltimore, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill graduated from Westmont/Upper Yoder High School in 1958. A 1962 graduate of Susquehanna University and a member of Phi Mu Delta fraternity. He worked in administration in healthcare in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., areas. After retiring in 2005, he relocated to Gettysburg where he was able to use his vast knowledge of the Civil War as a tour guide. He was a voracious reader, especially enjoying books covering the Civil War. The family will miss his knowledge of their genealogy. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. Monday until time of service at 1 p.m. at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown, the Rev. Eleanor Abarno, officiating.
