MOXHAM — REX – Gerald R., 75, Moxham, died Nov. 6, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Feb. 18, 1937, in Johnstown, son of the late Arthur A. and Helen A. (Gardner) Rex. Survived by wife, the former Carol E. Shawley, Moxham; children, Jerry, and wife, Carol, Ferndale; Terry, and wife, Tammy, Hollsopple; Arthur, and wife, Wendy, West End; Carol Ann, married to Anthony Shazier, Newport News, Va.; Cindy, Moxham; and Steven, and wife, Charm, Ferndale; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Mona Rex, North Carolina; and Lorraine Walters, Windber. Gerald was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and American Legion, Richland. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, a truck driver for Center Concrete, worked at Bethlehem Steel and also was self-employed. He was a skilled craftsman who would rather build it himself rather than buy it. He loved his family and spending time with them. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Road, the Rev. Kathleen Schoeneck, officiating. Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery.
