JACKSON TOWNSHIP — HILDEBRAND – Roy W., 90, Jackson Township, died Oct. 10, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 1, 1922, in Jackson Township, son of Chester James and Olive Grace (Howard) Hildebrand. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 55 years, the former Arlene Lois Dillon; daughter, Doreen, in infancy; and brothers, Raymond, Forest Clair and Chester. Survived by children, Bruce W. (Sharon Gossard), Kay Kalinyak and Lee (Elaine Nealen), all of Jackson Township. Also survived by grandchildren, Ryan Hildebrand (Kelly), Joshua Hildebrand, Shannon (Josh Flick) and Brandi Hildebrand; and great-granddaughter, Laura Joy Hildebrand. Brother of Dora Custer and Blanche Shiley, both of Johnstown; and Donald, Jackson Township. He was a member of Park Hill American Legion. Retired from the wheel plant of Bethlehem Steel Corp. with 39 years of service. Army veteran of World War II. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Henderson-Makuchan Funeral Home, 434 First St., Conemaugh, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Dr. David Hill, officiating. Interment, Forest lawn Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by Charles Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Program or a veteran’s organization of one’s choice. The Hildebrand family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Cambria Care Center for care given to Roy.
