THE VILLAGES, FLA. — ALIQUO – Frank J. Jr., 85, passed away Oct. 25, 2012, at The Villages, Fla. Born in South Fork on Oct. 11, 1927. Frank was the second of four sons born to Frank and Rose (Vitale) Aliquo. He was a star basketball player for South Fork High School and later went on to play on the U.S. Army traveling team during World War II. Frank graduated from Williamsport Technical Institute as a master tool and dye maker and worked for Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown before finding employment with Hour Glass Cleaners in Portage. Frank was a very hard working and dedicated employee and was soon offered a promotion to manage stores in Providence, R.I., and Hartford, Conn. He later went on to become the owner/operator of these stores in addition to opening a store in Manchester, Conn., where he was a longtime resident. Upon retiring to Florida, Frank became an award winning real estate broker in the Port St. Lucie area, before finally relocating to The Villages. Frank was a proud lifetime member of the Elks and held several chairs in the Manchester chapter. He loved to play golf and enjoyed spending his summers in Westerly, R.I. He was an excellent dancer and enjoyed listening to Big Band era music. He will be remembered for his big smile and hearty laugh. He is survived by his wife, Victoria (Salem); their daughter, Deborah, and husband, Robert Borello, Bolton, Conn.; grandchildren, Sarah Martin, and husband, Robert, Seattle, Wash.; Rob Borello, Waterbury, Conn.; and Rebecca Borello, and partner, Elaine Stoll, Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Benjamin Aliquo, and James and Rae Aliquo, The Villages, Fla., and Dominick and Lucy Aliquo, Allentown; and many nieces and nephews. A family and friends gathering will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. with a memorial service at 9 a.m. Nov. 2, 2012, at Beyers Funeral Home, Lady Lake, Fla. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Villages Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, Fla., or Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
