JENNERSTOWN — WOJNAROWSKI – Gene A. (Shaffer), 90, Jennerstown, died March 18, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. Born June 17, 1922, in Jenner Township, daughter Harry A. Sr. and Vida L. (Shaulis) Shaffer. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 48 years, Joseph, on April 23, 1992; daughter, Charlotte Knupp, on March 30, 2010; sister, Ora Buell; and brother, Harry Jr. Survived by children, Doris Wojnarowski, Arlington, Va.; and Raymond, married to Nancy Shreffler, Jennerstown; grandchildren, Kelly Knupp, and husband, David Fox; Staff Sgt. Adam Knupp, U.S. Army, and wife, Courtney; Rikki (Rubisch), and husband, Chad Snyder; and Tech. Sgt. Randy Rubisch, U.S. Air Force; and son-in-law, Jan Knupp, Colorado Springs, Colo.; also great-grandchildren, Matthew, Peter and Andrew Fox; Myla and Grant Knupp; and Colton and Morgan Snyder. A 1942 graduate of the former Boswell High School. Member of Laurel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jennerstown. Retired employee of the former Somerset State Hospital. She was an avid quilter and recipient of several ribbons from the Somerset County Fair, Meyersdale Maple Festival and Thresherman’s Jubilee. Viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, with Pastor Traci Bowman officiating.
