NORTHERN CAMBRIA — SHOLTIS – Margaret L., 87, Northern Cambria, passed away peacefully March 19, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Duncansville. Born Oct. 3, 1925, in Barnesboro, daughter of John and Helen (Podany) Mino. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Martin Sholtis, who died Feb. 14, 1988; brothers, Mike, John, Joe, Pete, Steve and Andrew Mino; and sisters, Mary O’Lear, Ann Milko, Sophie White and Sue Burba. Survived by children, Laverne (Mark) Previte, Duncansville; Nancy (John) Hassen, Northern Cambria; Jerome (Beth Dunchak) Sholtis, Northern Cambria; Marie (Arnold Sr.) Bernard, Windber; Kate (Clifford) Waksmunski, Hastings; and Martin Jr. (Brenda Farrell) Greensburg; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Sister of Helen Hvisch, Bridgeport, Conn.; and George Mino. Margaret was known throughout the community as “Bubba.” She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, playing cards and attending bingo on Sunday nights. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Church. Committal, St. John Roman Catholic Cemetery.
