JOHNSTOWN — FLOWERS (SLAVICK) – Ethel L., 81, Johnstown, died March 22, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 6, 1932, in Johnstown, daughter of Stephen and Mary (Yambor) Slavick. Preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis; infant son, Donald; sisters, Dorothy Teeter and Rose Boser; brother-in-law, Frank Boser; brother, Michael Slavick; and sister-in-law, Marlene Slavick. She is survived by her husband, Eugene A. Flowers Jr.; daughter, Sandra, wife of James Johns, South Fork; sons, Stephen, married to the former Joann Datko, Johnstown; Kathleen, wife of Greg Turner, Meyersdale; and David, married to the former Veronica Shostek, Johnstown; grandchildren, Jimmy (Ann) Johns, Amy (Joe) Jarvie, Brad (Jennifer) Flowers, Renee (Ron) Lee, Scott (Andria) Flowers, Steve (Katie) Flowers, Jennifer (Joe) McKernan, Amber (Mark) Hamilton, Gregory Balamuta, David Flowers and Tiffany Flowers; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Julia Slavick; brothers, Carl Slavick and Stephen Slavick; daughter-in-law, Vanessa (Oleska) Flowers; special niece, Beverly Held; numerous nieces and nephews; and her many friends who worked at Glosser Bros. and Hills Snack Bar. Ethel was a member of First United Methodist Church and the ladies auxiliaries for Dale Borough Volunteer Fire Company, Franklin Volunteer Fire Company and Cambria County Volunteer Fire Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, and crocheting afghans for her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., 710 Broad St., where funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Pastor Larry Rowe officiating. Interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery.
