JOHNSTOWN — KOESTLER – John W. “Jack,” 79, Johnstown, passed away Dec. 20, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Jan. 29, 1933, in Somerset County, son of the late John Phillip Koestler and Anna Louise (Blackner) Martinovich. Preceded in death by brother, Robert. Survived by wife of 55 years, Anna Marie (Magdelinic); children, John P., married to Silvia, Qatar; James W., Santa Rosa, Calif.; Patricia A., married to Edward Skarbek, Red Lion; and Thomas E., Portland, Ore.; brothers, Richard, married to Mary, Johnstown; Donald, married to Sharon, Woodland, Calif.; and David, Crosby, Texas; and grandson, Brady Smith, Red Lion. He attended St. Andrew Catholic Church. He was a member of Harmonie Singing Society and GBU. He was a Korean Army War veteran. He graduated from Girard High School, Philadelphia. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Andrew’s Church, Father Angelo Patti, officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
