SALIX — JONES – JoAnn, 85, Salix, passed into eternal life surrounded by her loving husband and family Dec. 22, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Nov. 14, 1927, in Johnstown, daughter of John M. and Mary (Pernau) Roberts. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Lois Jean Fetters and Marjorie Wolfhope; brothers, John P., Neal M. and Dean C.; and nephew, Harry “Butch” Wolfhope. Survived by loving husband of 66 years, James E. Jones, whom she married in Rockville, Md., on Sept. 7, 1946; sister, Nancy Lou Roberts, Lewes, Del.; nieces and nephews, David Wolfhope, Mary Jo Wolfhope, Judy Cononie, Milton Jones, Peggy Sheppard, Jeff Jones, Mary Jones and Kip Jones; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Graduate of Adams Township High School, Class of 1945. In her younger years, Joann enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing. She also enjoyed bus trips, gambling, gardening and spending time with her numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sidman, the Rev. William Deist. Inurnment, National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
