JOHNSTOWN — McAULIFF – Florence (Lewis), 82, Johnstown, died Jan. 2, 2013, at Good Samaritan Palliative Care, Memorial Medical Center. Mrs. McAuliff grew up on a farm in Berkley Hill, Upper Yoder Township, and was a graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School. She was a retired seamstress from JC & Me Inc., Hollsopple, and Bestform, Johnstown. Member of ILGWU. A cancer survivor of 40 years, she was an avid fan of Steelers football, as well as a NASCAR and Indy Car Racing. Florence spent her leisure time in the outdoors, and especially enjoyed time spent with her pet dogs. She also enjoyed the mental challenge of doing word puzzles. Mrs. McAuliff was preceded in death by husband, William Ayden McAuliff; sons, Daniel James McAuliff and Michael Dominic McAuliff; parents, William and Ruth Lewis; and sisters, Genevieve Greene and Betty Bear. Survived by sons, Thomas Hayden McAuliff, Johnstown; William Francis McAuliff, and wife, Janet, Port Matilda, Pa.; and daughters, Eileen Kyler, and husband, James, Johnstown; Cecilia McAuliff, Abilene, Texas; and Jeannette Rizzuto, and husband, Michael, Port Matilda, Pa. Also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Keller; and Ethel Lohr, and husband, James; and brother, William Lewis. Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon Friday, Jan. 4, at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc. Davidsville. Service is entrusted to the George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to American Cancer Society.
