JEANNETTE —
HELZEL – Frank E., 77, Jeannette, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born Oct. 18, 1935, in Crabtree, son of the late Louis and Hazel (Stine) Helzel. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Columbia Gas. He attended Assembly of God Church, Jeannette, and was a member of the Irwin Moose. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Spoonhoward; a sister, Mary Jo Cowley; and two brothers, Arthur and Larry Helzel. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Baker) Helzel; his children, Dana Mangan, and her husband, Jim, Jeannette; Barbara Kruk, and her husband, Gregory Sr., New Florence; Brenda Shaffer, and her husband, Matt, Listie; and Bruce Helzel, New Florence; seven grandchildren, Riley and Alana Jordan, Greg Kruk Jr., Margaret and Andrew Kruk and Nicholas and Jeromie Baird; two sisters, Bessie Block, Greensburg, and Ruth Pologruto, Mount Pleasant; a brother, William Helzel, and his wife, Doris, Spring City, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at John V. Graziano Funeral Home Inc., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette. Additional visitation will be Thursday at Assembly of God Church, Jeannette, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. with Pastor Martin R. Koss, officiating.
