IMLER — BURKETT – Norma Aleen, 86, formerly of Imler, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Homewood at Martinsburg. Born July 4, 1926, in Pavia, daughter of the late Charles and Martha (Ickes) Corle. On Nov. 8, 1947, she married Wilbur “Mike” Burkett. He survives her along with the following family; children, Stanley, husband of Pat Burkett, Imler; Karen, wife of Danny Callihan, New Paris; Luann, wife of Jerre Sell, Pavia; and Cindy, wife of Mitch Parker, Pavia; grandchildren, Michael and Lori Burkett, Beth and Joe Varney, Troy Sell, Chad Sell, Ashley and Dave Deasey, Shane Finnegan, Ryan Kudrick and Dylan Kudrick; and great-grandchildren, Bradley Burkett, Emily Finnegan, Brody Sell, Chandra Sell, Isiah Malec, Abbey and Gabe Varney and Chase Antesberger; also brother, Emil Corle. Preceded in death by granddaughter, Susan Burkett; sisters, Meriam Burkett, Jeanie Lamburn and Helen Corle; brother, Ivan Corle; and brother-in-law, Robert Burkett. Norma was a graduate of Bedford High School. She then worked at Everett Sewing Factory. She enjoyed being a member of Mount Zion Church; spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; watching the Steelers and Pirates; modern western square dancing; cooking; baking; and listening to music. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home, Alum Bank, and from 10 a.m. until the hour of funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Mount Zion Church, Pavia, Pastor Richard Harter officiating. Interment, Pavia Cemetery.
