JOHNSTOWN — UTNIK – James, 58, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord Feb. 5, 2013. Born July 20, 1954, in Johnstown, son of Edward, Johnstown, and the late Sophie (Golojuch) Utnik. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, John and Katherine Golojuch; and paternal grandparents, Walenty “Valetine” and Anna Utnik. Survived by son, Chris M. Utnik, married to the former Amy Burke, Johnstown; sister, Carol, wife of Richard Mesaros, Savannah, Ga.; brothers, Matthew; Anthony “Bernie”; and Larry, married to the former Cindy Thomas, all of Johnstown; Jeffrey, married to the former Barbara Mirable, Chesterton, Ind.; Tom, Johnstown; and Tim, married to the former Patty Lingenfelter, Johnstown; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. James was a graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran. James was employed as a laborer at Derricott Construction Co. Member of SS. Gregory & Barnabas Parish, Bon Air. James enjoyed fishing, hunting and all sports. He loved being in the outdoors and spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, East Conemaugh, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at SS. Gregory & Barnabas Parish, Bon Air, Father Robert Ruston. Military rites will be conducted by Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team at the church. Private interment at Oak Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to SS. Gregory & Barnabas Parish, 120 Boltz St., Johnstown, Pa. 15902, in memory of James.
