TERRA ALTA, W.VA. — COPPOLA – Priscilla A. (Metheny), 73, Terra Alta, W.Va., passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born March 17, 1939, in Tunnelton, W.Va., daughter of the late William Lloyd and Nona Evelyn (Bolyard) Metheny. She was a loyal and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a Christian lady who shared love, patience, kindness and hospitality to all she met. She loved her family immensely and looked forward to spending time with them as well as her friends and neighbors. Not only was she an avid cook and gardener, working on the family farm, she also was a cook at East Preston High School and an area supervisor for the Christmas Around the World company for many years. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling the world with her late husband, Edward Coppola, on the many trips she earned through CATW company. She also was a former member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Cranesville, W.Va., and St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Oakland. She is survived by three children, Edward “Nick” Coppola, and wife, Kathy (Schmidt), Panama City, Fla.; Dianne Bateman, Oakland; and Patricia A. Bennett, and husband, Joe, Johnstown; grandchildren, Brian Coppola, and wife, Melissa, Panama City; Matthew Coppola, and wife, Danielle, Warrensburg, Mo.; Kristin Nelsen, and husband, Elliot, Las Vegas, Nev.; Nathan Coppola, Panama City; Robert Sypolt and Amanda Johnson, both of Oakland; Jessica Cummings, and husband, David, Oakland; Tristan Evans, Kyoto, Japan; and Aaron Evans, Lebanon, Ore.; great- grandchildren, Kathrann, Julia and Caleb Coppola and Robby “B” and Raelynn Sypolt; two sisters, Thelma Dewitt, and husband, Allen, Terra Alta, and Carol White, and husband, Bob, Maryland; and two brothers, Patrick Metheny, and wife, Marilyn, and Steve Metheny, and wife, Carolyn, all of Terra Alta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Edward Coppola; brother, Donald Metheny; and sister, Vera Dunson. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, PA, 21 N. 2nd St., Oakland and from 10 a.m. to time of service at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11 at the Faith United Methodist Church, 6715 Cranesville Road, Cranesville, W.Va.
